Dr. Montgomery
Dr. George Montgomery, a proud native of Orangeburg, South Carolina, is an accomplished business owner and the Founder of Dream Investment Group, LLC, based in Maryland. He currently serves as a Survey Statistician and Project Manager at the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), a division of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). As the Project Lead for the 2022 Agricultural Census Products Team, Dr. Montgomery oversees a team spanning 12 regional offices and NASS headquarters, demonstrating his leadership and expertise within the USDA. He has excelled in multiple leadership roles throughout his career at USDA, as well as in his previous position with the United States Census Bureau.
Before joining the USDA, Dr. Montgomery built a diverse professional portfolio that includes serving as a Survey Statistician at the U.S. Census Bureau, a Progress Monitor in Special Education for District of Columbia Public Schools, a public speaker, a mental health counselor, and a decorated soldier in the United States Army. During his eight years of military service, including deployments in the Middle East during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, he achieved the rank of Sergeant.
Dr. Montgomery holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hampton University (2005), a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Virginia State University (2008), a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University (2016), and a Doctorate in General Psychology from Capella University (2019). He is also deeply involved in his community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Charles Drew Memorial Scholarship Foundation, as Chairman of the Project ENRICH College Preparatory program, and as an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Throughout his academic and professional journey, Dr. Montgomery has received numerous awards and recognitions for his contributions. Above all, he is a devoted father of two, a loving son and brother, and is engaged to be married in 2025. Guided by his principles of scholarship and perseverance, Dr. Montgomery is committed to uplifting his community and inspiring others through his dedication and leadership.
