Black History Presentations
Student Black History Presentations on Unknown Black History Figures. Attached is the Powerpoint you will use in your presentation. You can update the powerpoint to your liking.
The goal is to introduce everyone to someone unknown or relatively unknown who made a great contribution to society or their field of study.
Choose a black contributor that is NOT MLK, Malcolm X, Frederick Douglass or Harriet Tubman.
Our special guest speaker will be the Honorable Rushern Baker, former Prince George's County Executive. He will tell us about the link of political action and the black community.

HBCU Black College Expo
We will be going to the HBCU Black College Fair in Washington DC. The event and scholarship flyer has been loaded into the GroupMe app. At this event, schools will be granting on the spot admissions as well. Seniors, read the required documents to bring to obtain on the spot admission.

Talent Hunt Presentation : Saturday March 9, 2023, at 3pm
Helena Nobles-Jones Auditorium, Charles H. Flowers High School
The program is open to students in grades 9-12 who are Prince George’s County, Maryland residents with abilities in the creative and performing arts. Vocalists and instrumentalists are required to provide their own accompanists and dancers must furnish their own music.
Featured will be solo performances in the following areas:
Project ENRICH Essay Contest Topics:
Deadline: All essays are due to [email protected] by midnight March 27th
Each grade level will have winners (1st - $500, 2nd - $400, & 3rd - $300).
Freshmen: What is one thing you could do to improve our community? How would you accomplish this goal? Identify the problem, and how you could help change it.
Sophomores: There are several qualities one must have to become a great leader. Some of those include the ability to inspire, the ability to delegate, show commitment, and have confidence. Which of these qualities do you think is the most important one for a leader? Write an essay explaining why you chose that one quality.
Juniors: What is your top college choice? What are the requirements? What do you want to major in and why? Explain how attending this school and major will lead to your future career choice.
Seniors: Explain what you want to do as a career, and how you can use entrepreneurial skills to start your own business. What would be your plan?

Students will be giving their PE Scholarship Essay presentations based on their grade level topic listed above. Use the same powerpoint template as Black History Month for essay presentation. Each grade level has a different topic to explore.
